In 1884, Guiseppe Verdi a composer wrote a letter addressed to the Music Commission of the Italian Government. In the letter he requested that that the orchestras should reduce the tuning to 432. But his attempt failed.
The American Federation of Musicians accepted the A440 as the standard pitch in 1917. Around 1940 the United States introduced 440 Hz worldwide, and finally in 1953 it became the ISO 16-standard.
So most music we can listen to are tuned to "A=440 Hz".
But recently some people insist that 432 Hz tuning sound better, more comfortable and natural than standard 440 tuning.
Moreover they say 440 Hz tuning came about from the Nazis, Illuminati, etc. to make people aggressive and militant.
I don't think 440 Hz tuning is an evil maneuver, but have a feeling that 432 is more natural.
Here are some samples.
All pairs of samples are quite the same recordings but one is 440 and the other is 432.
Each sample is placed in a random order.
Which one do you feel better?
